(RESTORE MASSAGE THERAPY)
Rebecca has a BSc Hons in Sports Performance at University of Bath. She is a qualified Level 3 and 4 Sports Therapist.
Rebecca was an elite swimmer since the age of 10, becoming regional champion and national medallist across several years. During this she competed internationally for Team Bath and represented her country all over the world. Unfortunately, injury drove her to retirement where she uses her experience of being treated by high standard physiotherapists and sports therapists to treat and help other people.
Although her experience and expertise is with sports/active people she also gets outstanding feedback from clients whom may be suffering from work, posture & general injury related problems.
Abi has always had a passion for sport and competing which led her to martial arts as a teen. She found a love for the sporting side of karate and competed internationally for several years gaining medals at the British Championships and the World Cup. More recently Abi has developed a background in CrossFit which led to a love for weightlifting. She is a keen skier and tries to spend as much time as possible on the slopes throughout the winter season.
Having suffered with significant injury herself she regularly sought, and was supported with, treatment from both sports massage therapists and physiotherapists which allowed her to continue doing what she loved. It was this treatment which helped her develop an interest in soft tissue therapy and the anatomy of the human body. She was keen to understand why injuries were occurring and how they could be supported with regular treatment and rehabilitation. This interest eventually led her to retrain and she gained a BTEC level 5 in Soft Tissue Therapy through The Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage.
Given her background, Abi has an interest in treating all types of sporting injuries but also in supporting athletes with essential maintenance treatments. Having been a desk worker she understands how posture can have an impact on the body and is keen on working to improve all types of postural dysfunction with soft tissue therapy.
She is passionate about what she does and is keen to show people that treatment is not just for athletes and is equally as beneficial for anybody suffering from pain, discomfort or limited range of movement.
